¿Qué es la oncología?

La oncología es la rama de la medicina que se ocupa del diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer. Los oncólogos son médicos que se han especializado en el tratamiento del cáncer y están capacitados para utilizar una variedad de métodos para tratar la enfermedad, como cirugía, quimioterapia y radioterapia.

El cáncer es una enfermedad que se caracteriza por el crecimiento descontrolado de células en el cuerpo. Puede afectar a cualquier parte del cuerpo y puede ser potencialmente mortal si no se trata.
